i want to get a good set of reduction gears, for my 98 sierra. can anyone recommend some good ratios/brands.

ok...more info dude...ratios/brands all depend on tyre size you are gonna run...ie. running a 35 inch tyre with a 4:1 reduction gearset will be crap...you'll need a 6.5:1 ratio....

BUT

before you even bother looking for gearsets you'll need to get rid of your chain driven transfer case and put in a leaf sprung transfer case that will fit all of the aftermarket gearsets....

I'll save you some of the pain.... If it's a 98 it's a coiler so there basically aren't any reduction gears.

Do a search based on coil sierras and transfer case options.

sorry i forgot to mention im running 30" tyres at the moment but will be getting 31" muddies soon.

thanks for the info, ill be calling the wreckers tomorrow....
