Steering Clicking with Centre Lock

Post by t_e_z_a »

Hello, Have a NJ Pajero exceed, Havent tested 4x4 mode since going to morton island late feb and ripping yet another gas tank off, so whilst driving today put it into 4x4 and when i have it in 4HL with the centre lock it loudly clicks when steering and you can feel it though the steering wheel.

As far as I can remember it had no problems when I was at morton and it has never done this before. It happens when steering either direction. Didn't think of trying it in 4LL.

Any ideas? CV? (wouldnt it only click one way, and in normal 4H?)???

Help will be great thanks

how badly can you feel it thru the wheel? if its really bad then you may have a busted cv, but if you didnt notice it when out wheeling then i dont see how it could happen. :?

I would be checking the cvs.

Go into a paddock or somewhere off the tarmac. Put in 4HLc. drive in a straight line then turn left and right.
If it does it, stick your head out the window and determine which side it is coming from.
