funny clutch problem for the pros..

Post by josh73142 »

hi guys, i drive a cruiser but dont let that put you off haha, got my brothers shorty pajero sitting here with a strange clutch problem, its a '95 2.8itd import by the way, cool little truck. anyway, the clutch has no feel to it, when you release the pedal it takes a second or 2 to get back up and never fullly engages (you can have it idling in gear) it did it before and some dodgy lines and stuff got replaced and was fine on the road, but as soon as we got it hot in the sand it stuffed up again, (while hot the pedal stayed to the floor, once it cooled its doing what i described above) anyway i'm sure someone else has had this problem, I'm keen to hear.. if you guys need anymore info let me know, i've got the beast here.
thanks heaps in advance.

I'm guessing, but I suspect the master cylinder has a seal problem. Either the seal is stuffed, or the bore is corroded, which makes life hard for the seal - I'd lean towards the stuffed bore. I'm not sure that would explain the idling in gear problem, but it could explain the dodgy pedal.

Good luck,

Scott
