Looking at getting a toughdog RTC steeting dampner. Are these any good at improving the ride on road? Any one got one and have a personal opinion??

won't affect ride. will make steering heavier and your better off going for a normal damper such as ome. and yes....i've had a return to centre.

..at masking steering problems?

i felt no difference in running no steering dampner, running standard and running rtc apart from heavier in RTC. but my steering is pretty stop on. Dont waste the dollars.

yep.

I had one on my GU. For about 3 weeks. Then it came straight back off.
Got the tyres balanced at a number of different places until I found somewhere that could actually get them close (by taking the initiative & time to actually rotate the tyre on the rim instead of sticking on weights & saying close enough)

If set even slightly out it can cause undue tyre wear (started chewing the outside of my front left tyre), made my steering heavier. Didn't really offer any great improvements offroad either. (over a normal steering damper anyway, apart from being heavier...)

i got an RTC, and it does the job...

Only drama was setting it up correctly - my car was pulling to the right for about a week before i got around to taking it off again, and re-jigging the spring thingy.

May as well have gotten a HD normal one - but i do reccomend replacing the stocker - they are crappola

I have no steering problems, didn't when the old one was on there and don't now. I saw very little difference between the two. All those people saying it makes your steering real hard need to eat more wheetbix. The only real difference was a slight centering of the wheel effect but minimal really.
