Brakes on RRC

Post by V8 Rangie »

Just wondering if anyone here knows much about brake master cylinders and boosters??

Hey all

Ive fitted nissan and toyo diffs on my rangie and brakes have never been too flash.. very spongy. The engineer just plugged up one of the outlets because my brakes now only use single lines

so has 2 coming from 1st pump and 1 from 2nd pump

would making a t-piece on second to 1 line do anything?

have new discs and pads allround aswell

Cheers

I would try bleeding them again possibly using an extended tube that fits onto the top of the MC fluid container, so as to raise the level of the fluid and prevent air trapping in some of those funny upward bends Rover's have. I don't think putting in T will make any difference.

The other possibilities are leaks into the system through fittings, including the plug you have there. I did not plug our when fitting single line Defender calipers, but looped the back on itself to the outlet at the other side . Ours had four outlets on the MC.

Alsop replacing the flexible lines with braided SS make a big difference.
