Every 100,000 Kms is recommended.
I did mine a few months back.
Easy to do and save quite a few $$'s
I bought mine from http://www.hiflo.com.au/fuel_injectors.cfm
They have them in turbo spec which have different crack pressures to std injectors.
It worked about the same if not cheaper than getting re-co units

Any tips for choosing injectors?? Or do i just email those guys and tell them what i'm going to do with the car??
Can you give us a rough idea what they set you back, so i dont get a rude shock.

You'll get horror stories with any injector brand. More so reco's though...
I've got to call the shop who installed mine tomorrow because less than 4000km since the reco injectors were installed I have discovered for a FACT that they have different crack pressures (I wound the fuel right up on my atmo td42, and the fucking shake it had between idle and 1700rpm-ish went away. Couldn't leave it like that though as it was chaffing up behind me reaaal good.
) But anyway, thats the proof I've needed. so I'll call the guys and see if they remember me. I may or may not be a happy camper afterwards.
(currently still cheesed off at them)

I noticed an increase in power and the engine was running far smoother afterwards.
You have to make sure everything is nice and clean before doing it so that you don't drop any dirt etc into the hole.

The recommended time frame is around the 100,000km mark. Symptoms may include lack of power, poor fuel economy, excessive smoke emmissions or a combination of all 3. They are not a full cure to all woes. Generally it is tune up items, plus injectors and correct pump timing that fixes alot of problems. There are 2 different sets that fit a td42t. Make sure you get the right set.
As for different settings, the early factory turbo and na t42 have exactly the same settings and nozzles. We can also do them on a change over basis.
Hope this helps.

Whats the difference between the two??Dzltec wrote: There are 2 different sets that fit a td42t. Make sure you get the right set.
So would you be better off going for the earlier ones or the later ones??Dzltec wrote:As for different settings, the early factory turbo and na t42 have exactly the same settings and nozzles. We can also do them on a change over basis.
I'm turboing my 1990 model soon and want to do my injectors for safety reasons. They're as good as gold atm though. What are your recommendations??
Cheers!
The later ones have a needle lift sensor on number 1 injector and different nozzle part number fitted.
Just get yours rechecked. Most important is to check opening pressures, spray pattern and for dribbling. Then set them slightly higher than spec so that when they wear a little they are still at the correct opening pressure. If there are any doubts replace the nozzles.
