GQ Gearstick

Post by HeathGQ »

Okay..... strange prob... mainly cause I cant see anything wrong.

The gearstick occassionly feels like it falls out. Changes gears, but the stick doesnt stop........... moves around heaps...... A little push down on teh stick and it puts it back in to place and all is sweet again.

I pulled the stick off and had a look around to see if anything was broke. Nothin..... only thing I could think of was the spring that keeps tension on the ball has become loose.

Anyone done this? How did ya fix it.

Hope it's not the same as mine,

It only did it once but crunched in 3rd for about 2 months afterwards, then when I changed the oil I pulled an 80mm diameter syncro retaining circlip out of the drain plug.

On the bright side, the crunching has stopped and now been going fine for a month since.

the circlip goes in the top where the gearstick enters the box and holds in a white plastic bit which holds the gearstick in.
