4spd ATLAS TRANFERCASE?

Post by OGJON »

Hi I have just spent the last hour looking through all the bible topics for all 4by brands on this forum & could not find what I was after.

My question is:
Will a 4spd ATLAS TRANSFERCASE fit behind a 3spd ZF auto box without too much trouble?
the ZF is currently in a 83 model 4dr 3.5L Rangie
the reason I am asking is because I am building a rock crawler & I'm going to use the engine & ZF auto box in the crawler I'm not sure if I should mate the ATLAS directly to the gearbox or mate it up behind the current LT230 transfercase to give me even more gears to play with for ultra super low range.

any & all useful info appriciated tia

3 speed ZF?
ZF was 85 on and 4 speed.
before that was TF727 3 speed, and I believe C4 conversions done in aus.

It's not a ZF or a tough as nails BW35

Tis the piss weak C4, and a tired one at that. You can tell by the CV joint replacing the front Uni.

Also If you need the part to fix the CDL selector I have it in my shed somewhere.

I could do a mates rate of say $86.00

U sure its a C4 dobbo i thought it was the BW35 as it uses the whole case of the LT95 as its been moved back for it to fit and both prop shafts have been modded thats why it has the cv in the front shaft .....

Tho its not a worry to anyone but OG and $86 for that CDL part seems more than reasonable :D :D :D :D :D
