Bilstein 7100 shocks, reviews thoughts

I have been looking for a new shock set up and came across these http://www.bilstein.com/offroad.php and was hoping someone has these or can give me some feed back. There is a good variety of lengths available and they are fully serviceable by the user.

I have installed replacement air springs in the rear of a GU and thought the remote canisters would be a good option. Vehicle is used as a weekend vehicle only so predominately of road use.

Hopefully there is someone out there with info.

Well they all look fabulous, 7100 included, and the name bilstein has a good reputation, but 90 day warranty seems fairly short to say the least. As for personal experiences i have none, but would love to know of anyone's opinions as i too am in the market for new shocks.

from what I have read about these on ih8mud.. they are good if you are doing offroad racing and like to jump your car..

Seeming as there isn't much on it, I can tell you that the 6100's are excellent and very very durable with the exception of the rose joints. I was getting about 17000km out of a set of Rancho's and in all honesty could probablt trash a set at will. My 6100's have take significantly more abuse and have been treated a lot lot harder and they are still excellent. The rose joints though I only get about 6 months out of before they start to click and in the end swapped the shaft mount for a bush and had the body rose joint cut off and replaced with a bush. Use poly and they're good again. The 7100 will be much the same except that it will have the remote res and will be shorter for the same travel.

They're excellent, you'll love them. You can have them rebuilt/revalved etc if need be and the shock lasts and lasts.

Bilstein is one of the best names in shocks mate, you can't really go wrong!
