wheel spacers on MK

Post by DR Frankenstine »

would there be any major problems with running 2" wheel spacers on my MK?
Extra or to much load on the rear bearings or axles?
I would think front would be ok! What do you guys think?

Wheel spacers are a bad idea anywhere. Esp the front.
Wheels bearing strain will be increased 2 fold, bump steer will be a bitch (offset induced)
Not legal anywhere
Track width increase not legal.

i have run 1.5" spacers on my lux with none of the above mentioned probs, i also have 2 other mates that both run 2" spacers on there junk and they have no probs on the street.

obviously there will b more load placed on items like wheel bearings, swivel hub bearings, but if u keep an eye on them(i.e reagulary maintainence like greasing and checking 4 wear) then i dont think u will have any probs other than the cops, but just paint them black that way they r harder 2 c :)
