just curious wat the 3 wires are for on a hilux fuel pump. is it tacho and stop switch?

Yep, the Fuel cut-of valve needs power to supply fuel and the Tacho signal.
I'm the sharpest tool in the shed!

does it matter which way around the the tacho wires are, can you put them on back wards

Yep, the brown wire is going to Ground or vehicle body or battery negative and the Blue wire goes to the Tacho (diesel tacho).
I'm the sharpest tool in the shed!
