People hav done it before but it is all custom fab work to get the handbrake setup and rotor/caliper mounts happening. Ther is kits I hav seen on U.S sites but they mostly use chevy calipers which wud be hard to get pads for here. I think TJM hav a kit also now actually but it wud cost a bit.

If u wanted to u cud get a 95 series prado rear axle housing which hav disc standard and fabricate new shock and coil mounts to fit it under the surf, prados run the same 8" diff centre as the surf and r 5link coil also. It is a little wider but nothing worthing worrying about I dont think. Then u cud get a 1" bore V6 surf/4runner master cylinder which will bolt onto ur exsistng booster (or get the bigger V6 booster also) and a set of bigger V6 front calipers and ur brakes will be finished.
