hi,put a new motor in my zook over the weekend,started it up but wouldnt idle...discovered solinoid on carby wasnt plugged in so i made new plug and hooked it up now it idles smooth but high about 1500 sometimes higher...i have tried to back the idle screw out but it doesnt really change it..does anyone have ideas on what i can do or get done??thanks apart from that it all seems perfect

Have you got a vac guague? Check what the manafold vac is to determine if you have an air leak somewhere in the system (from behind the inlet valves to the back of the carb throats) making it run leaner.

I'd check that first.

Check the choke is operating properly. it's actuated by a small vacuum hose off the manifold and if it's not connected properly it will cause a high idle.

Otherwise as stated, check for vacuum leaks and check ignition timing.

did you use the carby that came with the motor or your old one???

thanks fellas,i used your old carby pubic..when i first start it its idles sweet then builds up,just went down the creek and it was up 2 1800 by the end but anyway ill check for leaks tomorrow and see what happens.and ill check the choke one steve.hopefully ill sort it out so i can keep goin and get my locker and gears in
