making your own shackles - what thickeness?
thinking of making some shackles for my 40 which are the right length for the springs.
What is the recommended thickness to use for the shackles?
I currently have 6mm and 10mm plate at home.. would 6mm be enough? or should I just go find some 8mm flat bar and use that?
I anticipate the eye to eye length would be in the 5-4inch range.. so they wont be super long.

my 10mm ones have had the whole 40 hanging up on them and still are straight as a die.
