hey people... just need some advise on wats the best egine to put in my 89 swb vitara... i got the 1.6l carb engine with a weber but its runnin crap... i want some thing fuel injected... my ideas are v6 commodore, gti swift, ca18, 2.0l v6 vitara, 1.6 fuel injected vitara...
please let me know wat you guys have done to yours...

Commonwhore = too heavy. :cry:
GTi = too little torque. :cry:
CA18 = heavy, costly to adapt. :cry:
2.0 V6 = Again costly to adapt and unreliable and extra rego for next to no real power increase over J20 4 cyl. :cry:

1.6 EFI Vit = Bolt in, readily available & reliable :D

The injected motor is the go unless you want a comp truck running 38"s

Very well, if you have lots of money and access to a suitable gearbox etc.

Generally though, diesels are not well suited to suzukis- narrow rev range and heavy.

h20 v6 would be great, don't know where people are gettin the idea they are unreliable, much prefer that over a shitter j20 motor. h20 half cuts are starting to appear cheap from japan.put over 350,000 k's on one of mine....still couldn't kill it. wouldn't be much more to adapt than a j20.[ and yes.....i have replaced a j20 with a suzuki v6...]

does anybody know any good places in brisbane to get them to put engine in... either the 1.6 fuel injected or the 2.0 v6..

if you find someone to mount the v6 pm me and i can modify the loom for you. h series are a bit tricky.
