75 Series Steering Box...

Post by Buggerific »

Howdy,

Got some power steering issues, basically it's getting harder to turn and is especially non-responsive if the car is on a slight funny angle.

I'm thinking it would be either the pump or the box and considering the box seems to be leaking I reckon it would be safe to start there... How easy is it to service a steering box and what is involved?

I'm also planning to service the swivel hubs and replace wheel bearings and I need to do the front flexy brake hoses... But I should be sweet to do that. It's just the steering I'm not too sure about.

Oh, and I went offroad the other day, was very difficult to get out of 4WD, any suggestions? It looks like my crossmember has been bent previously, would a straight one let the box sit right and maybe prevent or reduce this problem?
