air pump 95 rangy

where is the best place to buy a rebuild kit for the air pump for the suspension of a 95 range rover? the pump still works but takes ages to pump up ( 5 min) and is getting stupid the time the mrs is waiting before she heads off.

found a few on ebay but don't know if the quality is any good, any one used them? or is there a pump that is better to use?

It shouldnt keep going down. Id say its leeking, Have you checked the system for leaks? the pumps are normaly pretty good they either work or dont! It is possible to fit other types of pumps with modifcation. I baught a new pump for mine a while back (genuine) , which was about $400 from memory. Is it the last of the classics or a P38?
The air compressor should be dumping air into a tank, and the car should take about 3 seconds from bumpstop to full ride hight. you must ahve leaks in the system! The Rover pumps are very good, and dont realy give much drama, have your system checked fro leeks

Yeah, that's the sort of thing those articles get into - leaks and valves. Have also seen an article with photos that had mods to the air inlet, but can't fid it.

I be sticking with spirals.

don't know if the car is leaking air (mrs is short and lowers it most times) i'll leave it up tonight and see. i'll check the valves tomorrow night. think it's a bit of both cause i know the pump is on but takes ages to put up the car.

its not the old shape so must be the p38? only picked up the car last weekend.

found the problem, its a air leak from one of the fittings into the solanoid block. i just wraped it in plumbers tape and its a bit better but will go talk to a fitting place about getting a new one tomorrow.

Pop the brass fitting out by using a flat blade screwdriver between the valve block and the edge of the brass fitting (after you pull the hose out, by pushing the brass fitting in hard against the valve block with a screwy and then pulling on the plastic hose), and you will find two o-rings behind it. These are what leaks, find two new ones the correct size, and install them with a good dose of rubber grease. Refit the brass piece, and clip the hose back in (rubber grease the outer of the end of the hose also!), and you should be right.

Ranging rover, do you have any idea where i can get the right size o rings from? i've been to repco, auto pro and two different air con shops( range rover place is closed for the long weekend) and no one has the right size rings. they are all to small and thin.

i'm now up the creek till tues because to old ones i pulled out fell to bits.

any help wold be great!!
