Just wondering who uses what oil and what is the best for a brand new motor.

I use Shell Rimula X oil, and change it every 5000km.

Filters are genuine Nissan, and I change them every 10,000km.

No problems yet running this combo with 217,000km on the clock.
GU ST 4.2 TURBO. 9000lb Warn, Snorkel, 4" Lift, 33" BFG Muddys, ARB Locker, Outback Drawers, Dual Batteries, ARB Roof Rack, IPF HID's, GME UHF, 60lt Engel, Full 3" Exhaust and fuel pump tweaked

I run Cat DEO 15W40, a good oil...
05 Patrol GU ST Ute
3" lift, 3" exhaust, custom Garrett BB Turbo and top mount.. and electric mirrors !

i use Shell Rimula X every 5 thou, genuine oil filters every 5 thou,

the way i see it, why would you put fresh oil in with dirty filters?

I run Penrite HPR15 & Ryco filters in our 05 GU 4.2 every 5000k at a push I will let it run out to 7500k
