Help with Jaycar Dual Batt Kit

I've taken the jaycar kit out of my old fourby and installed into the triton. The problem is I've stuffed up the wiring somehow as I cant get it to work. It was working fine before!! Can anyone who's got one explain which wire goes where? Cheers.

Why not give Jaycar a call. Their tech department is pretty good as I've called them a few times.

Good idea but they are closed on Sundays and I was hoping to have this fixed before the working week.

Can you post which wires you have (including colours?) and where you have them connected?

From memory, I have the two main leads, an earth wire, a second (blue?) wire connected to the primary battery (voltage sense for the primary battery - tells the controller the primary battery voltage, unaffected by voltage drop on the main charge lead) and an orange wire providing an "engine running" signal.

Jaycar CAN NOT re-issue plans/instructions as they are often owned by a third party (silicon chip Magazine)

I had one of the $99 Jaycar jobs and it did work.........as in isolating one of the batteries so both didn't go flat.

In my case I left the lights on and flattened the main cranking battery. Simple jump start next morn from 2nd battery.

From memory there is just an earth, pos feed in from alt and pos feed out x2, (1 for each batt).

Always had problem with low voltage (as in just below normal on RRC voltmeter) at night with lights, wipers, heater fan, stereo and thermo fan going. Knew I was losing about 0.5 v from alt with the Jaycar unit. Thought about 2nd alt, etc.

Bought a Redarc isolator on impulse and fitted it. Now runs all the above stuff without slipping out of the 'normal' range on the voltmeter. Made a big difference, but did not measure before and after. Just going on the difference on the gauge.
