leave springs can flex really well. a set of IFS 2inch raised springs on extended shackles would work well. there will be plenty of people with ideas. hope it might help

yeah real long leaves and shackles will help you get good flex.
otherwise you might end up with width issues with those diffs mentioned as they will be a fair bit wider then your stock diffs.

Yeh, i have shortened the rear of the body and i have a supercharged v6 in it, i was actually trying to get a bit more width if i could, i need to get an engineers certificate for all the mods done so far so i thought i may as well go all out put some good suspension under it, i will probably do majority of the work myself to..

surf or 80 series rear chassis cut will probably be your best bet. surf diff with 80 series chassis mounts would be better than surf chassis and the surf diff is only 2 inches wider.
80 series diff is alot wider (6 inches from memory) and will be stronger aswell.

Run an IFS rear diff with wheels with a good offset.
Mines plenty wide enough and flexes fine with the Trail Gear kit in it.
My springs are still new and havent settled yet so flex should only get better.

Ok cool so is going coils worth the work or should i work with the leafs, your truck looks good boof, the trail gear stuff looks pretty good on their site.
I think i might of stuffed up tho,i cut the body down to the rear wheel arch anticipating the coil conversion ah well..

I would just work with the leafs but for every one that would work the leafs you will find 2 that would go coils. Personal preference imo

im another vote for playing with leafs, its easier than re inventing the wheel for the small gain ull get, sure it will be comfyer and prob flex abit better, but when will u need that extra flex over what boof has anyway. For the money ull spend doing the mods and then engineering id stick with leafs..

The Trail Gear springs and shckles wont cost you much more than Lux 89 if only doing the rear, and they work straight out of the box. No trial and error and no stuffing around pulling leafs out etc. Those pics of mine were its first decent trip out and they are no where near broken in yet.

The trail gear springs and shackles from locktup are $624 + shocks on top of that
The IFS spring conversion is $240 + a 2nd hand set of springs + shocks for the man on a budget it can't be beat.
Both kits have there place

Springs are 440 delivered any shackles can be used.
As said both have their benefits but I wouldnt be calling the Trail Gear setup expensive its damn good value imo. And having had IFS rear springs they really dont compare

I should have read that before posting
The IFS spring conversion I speak of is my 200mm shackles and the rear shock inversion kit. which is another + on the trail gear.
I have no problem with the trail gear stuff, my new lux will have plenty of gear on it from locktup.

I agree but considering IFS rears go for 100-150 most of the time its only 300 extra for new springs that will flex better, ride better and last better than IFS ones with springs ripped out so they can actually flex. But if dollars is the main concern then the IFS rears are a top way to go.

				yeh ill add to this

ill run ya on the stuff i used and payed.
IFS SPRINGS = $50
SHOCKS = Already had
SHACKLES = Bubs $140 awseome shacles 'plug plug'

MOUNTS = Cut off the old front housing
MOST IMPORTANT = Time, this costs nothing, it takes 10mins to remove a bottom load leaf

And Fitment time, allow a day and a carton to cruise through it. Thats welding and everything. IMO running the flipped rims seems to push the whole setup alot more.
heres mine
if you look down the drivers side, in a rutted situation, it shows its true colors, stump dosent show its full potential.
