Question re 80 Series front housing

Post by Simo63 »

Hi guys. I need to know asap if an 80 series front diff housing that was for a factory locker will take the centre out of a normal 80 series (eg no factory locker).

Cheers

it will if you drill and tap some new holes, but im not sure if the whole centre will seal the housing completely (where the locker mechanism was)...

It will, but you will need some silastic, and will need to remove some long studs for short length ones.....the cutout in the housing is different one end, thats where the silastic comes into its own.....almost all is covered up but some good silastic fixes what might leak

Thanks guys. Looks like it won't fit the purpose needed so I will just hang onto it. Don't suppose anyone wants to buy a front 80 series diff housing to suit a factory locker :D
