My main queston is. can a 4.2 diesel go straight into a petrol GQ ie. is the wiring harness the same for all GQ's or do i need to change the harness. as far as all the accessories go i have a complete gq 4.2td with bent chassis rails hence the swap, much cheaper to by a tidy st or ti than repair and get a better spec 4wd in the proccess,
Any ideas would be appreciated, and if any one see, a good gq lwb 1994 onward that is dead straight and in perfect nick inside and out drop me a PM.
cheers and prior thanks
Pete

I THINK the wiring harness is a bit different to accomodate things liike the glow plug timer and glowplugs etc. The glowplug timer is in the drivers side kick panel just below the fuses. Check and see if there's a multipin connector there taped up. Dont confuse it with the AUTO trans kickdown connector. Also the Alternator is on the right hand side for the petrol vs left hand for diesel. It should be possible, with a bit of dismantling to remove the petrol harness and swap it for a diesel.
