Have the chance to puchase a 8db gain ariel just wondering if they are still of benifit with 3g and also wat else would i need for install in car,hope you can understand my query.

Hey Mate,

They are of benifit - But you need a car kit with a cradle to adapt your phone to the connector (generally FME type) of the ariel.

You really do notice the diff while country driving.
It's not the truck thats always getting stuck... its the driver... :finger:

depending on the phone you may be able to get an adaptor that changes the fme or mini uhf plug on the antenna into a plug that you just slot into the antenna socket on the phone.

its a cheaper alternative than going down the car kit path.

have a look on google for your phone - they call them patch cables.
