anyway i'm a fan of this motor so i'll help somewhat, it's an import quad cam 6-bolt mains 4.1L v8, makes 207kw and 396nm of torque.

here is more information
The only thing i don't agree with in this info is the compression ratio, i think the VH45's compression ratio is 10.2:1 but the VH41 is more like 11.2:1, or 11.5:1.

The VH41 has some small advantages over the 45. ie Duplex timing chain and smaller cam pulleys so that makes the motor slightly narrower at the cam pulley covers, which is the widest part of the motor.
VVT means you have 80% of torque at 2000rpm and 90% at 6900rpm. Peak torque is 4000rpm but that really isn't as important as the spread. So it has about the same torque at the same rpm as a TD42!
The VH uses the same auto as a TD, or TB so is a bolt together job.
And I can assure you, turboed one is quite a bit of fun.

So will a GQ TD Manual bolt up also ?nzdarin wrote:The VH41 has some small advantages over the 45. ie Duplex timing chain and smaller cam pulleys so that makes the motor slightly narrower at the cam pulley covers, which is the widest part of the motor.

I remember seeing a GQ with a VH45DETT. Yep thats twin turbo, 2 T28's.
I would love a ride in that GQ.
Dave.

Really? That's pretty good if it saves a lot of stuffing around.nastytroll wrote:you can buy an adaptor plate from perth 4wd wreckers, was quoted $400 for the plate a year ago. Thats V8 to manuel.
They're a good motor, I think the VH45 is more desirable.
Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no such thing as a true VH45DETT, it is a VH45 with two turbos but didn't leave the factory that way...?
This is not legal advice.
There are adpaters being produced in the US that mate to the 300ZX 5 speed and that allows the 6speed from the Frontier to be used as well. I think the Patrol 5 speed is a completely different animal though.
