Anybody help with Walker Rims?

Post by GETNHI »

Hi all! We are in need of five 17inch Walker Evans beadlock rims ( or similar) to suit a Pootrol so we can run Cliffhanger. New or used or even info on where to track some down. Apparently they are in short supply at the mo.
Any replies much appreciated.

Do you know much about these Greg? Are they Cast,Forged or Billet? The info on the site is a little confusing as it mentions a solid piece of alluminium but then also mentions being cast. What stud patterns are they available in?

What are Creeper Locks? Creeper Locks are Trail-Gear's very own, super strong, heavy duty wheels. These wheels look great and come at an affordable Trail-Gear price! Creeper Locks are 17" X 9" wheels with a backspacing of 3.75" and are made from a solid piece of aluminum. Each wheel weighs a whopping 45 lbs with locking ring and hardware. These are no ordinary aluminum wheel, Creeper Locks are super tough and built to last. Each wheel is cast with the inner beadlock as part of the wheel. All 24 of the bolt holes on the wheel have steel Time-Serts installed to prevent the bolts from galling. Drop down inner lip centers tire on to wheel during mounting.Features:
So they're Cast by the look of it.
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
Or made from a solid piece of aluminium if you read before that.

I'd read that as one piece of cast alloy.

Me too. They are saying a cast wheel is "one solid piece".
This is not legal advice.

To me it infers that they are made from a piece of billet alloy. Where as cast is generally made by pooring molten steel into a mould or cast.

understand what you are saying, but in essence, the result of a casting is one single piece of cast ally. It if nothing else is clever marketing.

saw SKIP (team EFS QLD) totaly destroy a walker rim at rnd2 extreme winch @ rockhampton 2 weeks back. they left 100mtr of rim debris up the track, before they could not drive anymore, then had to waste valuable time changing a wheel in a SS, where the steel rims (non reinforced) that hit the same rock just bent,& because they had stauns they could continue without a DNF, or loss of time..needless to say im frigin glad I didnt hit the same rock, as I run standard alloy mags,(not walkers) & they would have ended up the same, all the way up the track PIGLET
