hi guys, im a newish member to this site, ive done a search and couldnt find results. i recently had fitted an air locker in the rear of my vitara. i took it for a spin for the first time tonight and when i switched the locker on all the air escapes from the breather. this is not normal. i causes the compresser to start every 10 secs or so.

what should i do? am i doing something wrong?

cheers

sounds like a seal has let go inside the locker and air is bypassing internally in the diff, my mates front vit diff did that not so long age, they said it had water in it and it cost $500 to fix:(

The 'o'ring is not sealing properly, which is a bugger. Have to pull the whole centre out to fix a 50c part.

ok but i havnt even used the car since arb installed it. so theres no way water could be in it. is it covered by warranty?
if it is the 0' ring shouldnt ARB have tested it before handing it over?

cheers mate

Should have but shiat happens, if it's only just been done take it back especially if you forked out mega bucks to get ARB to install

yea im not happy about it. when you pay that much money you expect them to do a check. its only been 2 days since ive had it installed by ARB. i think i might have to kick up a bit of a fuss tomorrow.

ok....doubt it will be the o rings. which store fitted it?.will more than likely be the adjuster nut locking tab, these have to be bent slightly or they will push down on the seal housing and leak under load, yes, under load...not a bench test.
