GU rim offset

Post by Tomo_89 »

hey guys... Just wondering what offset a standard GU rim is.. looking at getting something with a bit more offest and would like to do a fake bead lock set up.. can anyone give me some info on how to do this? i've searched and found a few good links but a bit more info couldnt hurt.. i.e what sort of rims to use, are there any d.i.y kits etc...

any info would be muchly appreciated

cheers
Tomo

P.S. the fake locks are purely for show.. don't flame me about the cons of them.

ok.. so a -6 offset would give me some more clearance?
can anyone tell me what sort of rims are good for putting fake beadlock rings on?

You can get a fake beadlock look.

A larger offset is popular, so a wider tyre can be fitted without any issues. Often around -20mm

Fair enough to buy a wheel where it is already a "feature" but please explain to me the point of going to the time, effort and money to add fake beadlocks purely for wank factor?

simply because i want something different... and it would work out cheaper to make them myself.. $100 for a rim... cut out some alloy and weld some mounts on... works out alot cheaper than buying them

What sort of rims are they? I've been looking at a set of procomps and the biggest offset they have in a 16 is -6. also looked at mickey T's but they told me they only had the standard offset for a 16?
