Hilux 2.4D cooling

Post by one_waz »

I am looking at fitting a brand new VP commy radiator w/ thermo fan to my 2.4D hilux i know it will be a bit of work but hopefully it will solve my over heating problems.

I was just wanting to know if anyone else has done anything similar to this before? i know overheating on the old 2.4 warhorse is a pretty common Dilemma.

Cheers

Actually it's not a real common dilema. There's millions of these motors running around still. Not to mention the 2.8 motor being next. If it were a common problem there wouldn't be many 2L's left. HAve you done all the usual checks yet? Genuine thermostat, fuel pump tuned right? radiator shroud? unblocked radiator? Clean air filter? Your snorkel isn't blocked is it? You might be getting yourself into more bother by mucking around swapping the original gear. Might pay to check out all this stuff first hey.
