G'day guys,
My name is Wes and I live in Melbourne. I recently bought my first 4wd, a 1997 coily hardtop.
The car currently comprises a stock driveline, federal 30"s, gme tx3220 with custom overhead uhf/speaker unit, 2" body lift, 2" spring lift, 3" stainless snorkel, custom front and side bars, and is stock other than that.
I have a few questions for you guys:
Should a gme aerial base bracket be earther or not?
My front right wheel seems to have some negative camber, bent diff?
I plan to go up to 31"s when my tyres wear out. Do I need to get lower gears?
How do I make sure my snorkel is 100% leak proof, as in it's current state it allows the car to drown?
What else should I be looking at buying for the car?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Cheers,
Wes.

Where too from here?
hey wes
im running 31x10.5 federal muddys on my 85 drover and it is still fairly capable on road. altho i have heard 31s are the limit before you need to stuff the transfer with a set of rockhoppers. my speedo is out by about 20ks tho.
im not sure if there is much difference between the coily and leafy in the wheel/tyre area tho.
as for your snorkel which part are you woried about leaking?
also was your rig from bairnsdale? i saw a similar 1 a few months ago.
hope that helps

1 - I cant help sorry i have no incar cb
2 - Could be bent diff, Is it just the left wheel? Could be worn wheel bearings, Camber caster change from the lift, toe in too much, may need a wheel alignment?
3 - 31's should be ok, depending on what terrain your driving on, and if you want 5th gear on the highway
Otherwise, if you need gearing on steep rockclimbs etc, you will need another older mod transfer case as coilys are chain drive. (say 91 leafs and on b4 coilys) The speedo is probably out with the 30" tyres on it anyway. Id like to see a sierra with a perfect speedo!!
4 - You will need to find why its drowning Leaky airbox? Hoses not tightened? And silicone
5 - All mods are limited with a budget. Also depending on what you do 4bing will determine the mods.
Oh and looks like a nice coily bud! I like your little side step. Looks cute

spend the money and sway in a leaf t/case and then get some gears for it. (6.5's seem the best valua for money) it will make it such a better 4x4 than it is now. then when ya want traction get lockrights.
1999 SQ625 Manual Grand Vitara. Lifted, Twin Locked, 31' Extremes, dual Batteries, Winch.
Lots of custom gear as I cant afford the proper stuff.
