TJM HJ60 Auxillary Fuel Tank

Post by Cruzer! »

Hi all - has anyone got a TJM aux fuel tank fitted to there HJ60/61/62? I got a friend here who picked one up cheap and we were wondering on how itmounts/brackets and how it clears the exhaust - so if someone has one and can give us some info/piccies that would be great - the information i have is it fits between the LHS chassis rail and the driveshaft between the tcase and rear diff area.. thanks

I wrecked an FJ60 (petrol) with one of those tanks. Tried to sell the tank (with all necessary bits eg, fuel gauge, switching solenid, wiring, etc) but no one wanted it. Anyhoo, it was mounted the same way you describe. I would assume the exhaust was re-routed to allow for the tank. Here's some pics I dug up from the old "for sale" thread. (still have this if anyone out there wants it). You'll see in the last pic that a piece of RHS needs to be welded btween the chassis rails to pick up one mounting point. The rest mounts to the chassis and existing bracketry. Hope this helps.
