I have an 84 hilux with a 308 holden motor. dyna 5 speed, lokka diffs front and rear. Looking at upgrading to patrol GQ diffs or landcruiser. Found a set of GQ cheap! also probably a coil conversion. Anyone done this or something similar?
Think the hilux diffs are on borrowed time! especially with the lokka's and V8 trouqe!
P.s No I don't want a patrol. I like the lux! But if I roll it again i'm not re-bodying it again!!

If you think Nissan diffs are an up grade then go ahead and have fun.
But think about it like this.
2 diff locks to uit nissan diffs are going to be about $2200
and then there is all the work for putting them in.
30 spline long fields will cost you just over $1000aus atm and that with the hub gears.
then go cyro treated ring and pinion gears, they will set you back something like $400 - $500 each (guessing here)
then if you want extra strength go with chromo rear axles at $529
About the same cost (little bit more) its all bolt in and stronger then GQ diffs ever will be. PLUS you have the added bonus of extra clearance
