What to Buy, 1.6EFI, 2.0EFI 4cyl or 2.0V6 Vitara LWB
Hi Guys, Just new to Outer Limits 4x4 and am looking for some advice on which VITARA ZOOK WAGON to buy. I have spoken to people who say dont go for the V6 the 1.6 is better in the bush. I am looking to buy purely as a weekend toy for 4WDing and something to play with in the garage. I want to do all the mods EG: lift kit (Body & Suspenion), rims & Tyres etc, etc. Call it a project. Can I do mods to the newer car, so confused, Best leave it to the people in the know!!! Which one 1.6efi or 2.0v6?

if its only for the bush and your not gonna drive it around town id get a sierra as they will take a bit more punishment offroad. i think out of the 2 vits the 2.0v6 would have a wider stance so id go it if your not ganna put lockers in.

well in that case yeah go a vit but u did say "purely as a weekend toy" which usually means not a daily driver.
yes u can put lockers in the v6 but it involves more work. arb only make them for the 1.6 diffs ratios so u have to take out the diff centres in the v6 first and replace them with the diff centres from the 1.6. (sorry cant remember the exact diff ratios, if someone can clarify, i just know what model they are from). also i think they just fit in, no extra work required but never tried myself so not 100% on that.

Airflow do a snorkel for the V6, lockers fit fine (it's the GV that needs Vit centres), bars can be adapted and you'll have to do that anyway if you put a bodylift on a 1.6 and there are solutions to dual batteries if needed. The V6 has more power, a bigger petrol tank and a wider track. The downsides are potential timing chain tensioner and rear main seal issues.

$5500 and it is in perfect cond, 140000 on the clock V6 5spd man. 2 small dints about the size of a 20cent peice, the rest, cant fault it. Drove it from Sydeny to Melbourne and did'nt miss a beat. My mate is a Zook Mechanic, he's been over it an gave it the thumbs up. Now to turn it from a chicks daily drive into a blokes weekend play toy and go have some fun with it.
