New model Hilux on the way?

Post by quanger »

Heard a rumour the other day that a new Hilux will be here in November, does anybody know if there is any truth in this?

I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a rusty nail than "get used" to the look of the current hilux. How ANYONE signed that design off is beyond me.

Let's hope it's one hell of a facelift.

there is a facelift, minor cosmetic and trim changes.

what you wont find on the spec sheet for the update is that toyota is upgrading the clutches on the hilux's as there have been problems with them wearing too quick.

Gwagensteve,

mate, they are not that bad looking...its what you do with what you got a guess.

they are alot sexier than the new Triton!

Thanks for the replies guys, I have been thinking about a new Hilux for a while, then when I heard this I thought it might be worthwhile hanging off for a bit, good news about the clutch too as I had also heard a few bad stories about them failing early, regards Quanger.

I'd wait. Either see if the new one is prettier (well it cannot be uglier), and if it is uglier buy the 'old' model for a discounted runout price, as the dealer will want to flog them off. OK style is not the only deciding factor I know.

Yep, I'll be waiting to see what it looks like for sure now that I know I didn't just hear a "rumour", thanks again guys. I wonder is there any chance they will bring out a 6 speed manual?

no six speed manual.

look at the sales figures, they are kickin butt with the hilux with what it has. the only way they'll get a 6 speed manual in there is if the competition has it in their utes and the competitions utes are selling close to the same sales figures.

why change it if your on a (sales) winner?
