Will 38s fit

Post by duncan »

Guys need your thoughts and experience .At the momment im running a 4 inch lift and 3 1/4 body lift on 35 Centapeeds .I want to go bigger but dont no wether to by 36 Centapeeds or 38 swampers or if 38s wont fit somthing in the 37 inch range.
Dose anyone run 36 Centapeeds who ran 35s before as the 3 blocks in the center of the tread just look to close together more like a large hunck of rubber was thinking it would just spin and not get traction when wet and muddy .Also what are the actual sizes i no a 35 Centapeed is actualy smaller were a 36 is bigger than quoted how about the swampaers and were is the best place in aus to by swampers

But what are the actual size of the 38" swampers. From my reading on pirate the 38 x 12.5 are very small and are around the 36-37" in height.

But I think the 39.5's are very close the the advertised size.

Duncan you definately need larger tyres, it would make the patrol look very cool

The spec sheet for TSLs state that 38s are actualy 37.8 inches and 36s are actualy 36 .3 or that was what i was told .Have been reading everything about swampers is it true that Boggers arent that good on side slopes ?
Cheezy how much cutting of the guards did you have to do ?

Wendle what 37s were you running and did you do much chopping .
Anyone no the price of 38s is it worth while going TSL SXs or just stay with the TSLs

Dont believe everything you read  Most swampers dont measure what the specs say they do, eg 33 TSL was 34.5 and a 36 TSL was also 34.5, 38.5 TSL was 37.5 but a 38.5 bogger was 38.5. 2 of my 37 boggers were 36 and the other 2 were 37.2, 39.5 were 39 and the 42's are 41, but it does depend on the rim size you are using.
MT bias 35 are 34.2 and 37 are 36.2 but the radial claws are spot on.
Simex are spot on in the height but are wider than they say.
As for boggers on side slopes, they are ok with a light rig but with a heavy one not so good. You cant beet them in boggy shyt or in a rut where the side lugs can bite in and also if you have good HP.
As for cutting of the guards, there wasnt too much cutting but the rear wheel arches were tubbed. :D
If you want prices give me a buzz on Tuesday at work. 03 97618111.

If you have a standard motor you will think it is a bit of a slug, its the same as going from 31's to 34's with standard gearing.
I think you should go kevlar everything and a 500 HP chev, or then again you could just by my Mav. :D
