GQ Radiator and overheating question

Post by figjam_1985 »

hi all
got an 88 GQ TD4.2

this moring on the way to work i put the heater on in the "cycle" mode, use air from inside the car, instead of "draw" from outside, and no sooner had i done it the temp went through the roof, so i pulled over, all was good, put it into draw mode and it stayed wher it has for the past 2 months since ibought it, normal. When i got to work i noticed there is no water in any of the hoses, yet the overflow was full and the rad had water in it :?:

Is there an air pocket in the system, and if so how the fork do i bleed it out of there :?:

I dont know how long its been like it, but the engine has not over heated and its had plenty of trashings since then.

Cheers
