100 Series LC 4.2D What is it worth

Post by slobo »

Hi Guys,

I have found a Landcruser 100 series 1998 model 4.2D with 169 000 km and full service history. The guy is asking $22500.

Do you think it is a good price for it?

Also I did the RACV check on the car it came very positive except two major items.

1. Clutch operation shudders slightly on take off (further investigation needed)
2. Front hubs - excessive driveline free play (further investigation needed)

What do you think about those in terms of possible costs of repair?

Cheers,

Slobodan

Red book says
Private Price Guide $16,200 - $18,800

Trade In Price Guide $12,700 - $15,300

Average Km 150,000 - 250,000

Price When New (RRP)* $52,180

I think you will find nearly all have the clutch shudder, mine has and i did read on a forum that it is common

Thanks for reply mate,

So clutch shudder shouldn't be something to worry too much about.

How about the driveline freeeplay?

Cheers,
