I put some aftermarket seats into my gu, i was goin to modify the bases etc, but that kinda falls under the "illegal" side of the law here in vic. I had to end up buyin bases off Paratus seats, $170 each. More than i wanted to spend, but, they have the "ADR approved" sticker on them, and they bolted straight up to my seats.

at a guess it would cost a whole host more than new seats..
had my rodeo seats rebuilt, and it wasnt cheap just for that, letalone holes for harnesses

G'day mate, i got my seats from The Motorshed down here in Geelong, they came with sliders/rails. Now, i consulted a engineer on this, and he said as long as you dont take a welder to the bases, he and the law are cool with that. The rails i got with the seats were about 10mm to narrow to suit the bases. So i got a couple of strips of plate, some high tensile bolts, and bolted it all up, no welder
The steel i used is stronger than the stuff used in the bases, so i have no concerns there, and apparantly bolts are fine (yeah, checked on doin it this way too, and it was ok apparantly).

I got recaro bases with my recaro seats. And I am going to have to have a fiddle with the drivers side. As its like driving a defender, being pushed up against the door. But there is ample room down between the seat and the center console.
So I think they could have moved them over a little more. Would have also made the seat inline with the steering wheel. Which most after market seats arnt (Paratus, Aerotech & Recaro).
