HELP - Rodeo CV shaft removal

Post by ricky1970 »

Just tryin to replace the CV shafts on my TF ('99) Rodeo. Anyone know what hold the shafts in the diff housing???? There are two circlip (?) grooves and a bearing surface in the new shafts behind the inner CV housing. I take it there is a bearing there. Di i have to drop the diff housing mount brackets and lower the housing to get to these???

Thanks
Rick

Not 100% about Rodeo's but CV's are usually just clipped in.
Yank on them hard enough and they pull out.

Tried just popin em out, and when you take out the retaining ring they do come out. But my (non-genuine) CV shafts have differant CV's so i can't leave the old axle shaft there and just put the new CV half into it :x

Looks like i will have to drop the whole diff to get them out.
