FJ40 power steering into FJ55 - help needed

Post by Sixty's Guy »

I purchased the power steering gear (minus pump and box) from an FJ40, thinking it would be a straight bolt up to my FJ55. I removed the crankshaft pulley and installed the FJ40 triple pulley. I replaced the FJ55 water pump, pulley and fan with that from the FJ40. The problem is that the fan touches the radiator. I guess it sounded too easy. Can anyone chime in with solutions/options?

PS I can't seem to get photobucket working right now. I'll post a pic later.

Thanks Azza. I took the fan out so I could get the 55 back into the the workshop. I can't see how I can move the radiator forward though. There is a heap of room in front of the radiator, so I think the easiest thing to do is to mount a thermo fan in there. Problem solved then.
