Hey Guys,
i beleive my AFM on my 94 dual fuel 1FZ-FE landcruiser is faulty and this is why.
my car idles at 300-400rpm popping and farting all over the shop. Now i did the usual check the 45 degree bend in the intake pipe off the AFM to the mixer for holes and i came up with nothing so i thought i would try and run the car with no pipe on there. I started it, the car ran and idled as it usually did at 300-400rpm.
I thought ha fancy that, so i thought i would go back down the line and pull the plug out off the AFM and see what happened. with the plug disconnected i started it let it idle and it idled as it was at 300-400rpm. this was also with that intake tube removed off the front of the gas mixer at the same time.
So in conclusion with or without the AFM and intake tube connected it made no difference. It also idles at 300-400rpm hot or cold.
Does this mean my AFM is knackered? What are the signs of the dud AFM?
Im trying so hard to try and figure out why it does this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Ben
