C Clip with H/duty axles

Post by Rotazuk »

Hi
I am getting some longer axles made for the heavy duty axle and cv's i have , for a samurai from the states , roadless gear . The original axles and cv's did not come with a clip to lock the cv onto the axle . I thought I had read somewhere not to use one but I thought they were talking about the clip out at the hub . Can anyone confirm if I need a c clip to hold the axle to the cv , I am guessing so .

Cheers
Chris

I would guess so too.

I broke one of mine (CTM shafted doubletoughs) when I pulled them apart to have a look.

I was able to use a clip off a stock sierra CV. It was fine.
