Grand Vitara 2003 changes

Post by Dee 4x4 »

Hi guys.

I've searched and read through a lot of threads about Grand Vitara's but still haven't been able to find anything about the changes to the Grand Vitara during 2003. (referring to the 99-03 model, and the 03-04 model).

I'm planning on purchasing one shortly and the only thing I can really notice is that the interior is different (a lot nicer in my opinion) but I'd hate to make my purchase and then realize that I'd made a mistake.

Are there any real mechanical differences between the models? Diffs? Timing chain fixes? Track width?

Cheers for the help.

www.redbook.com.au might help you out with any spec or equipment differences.

Thanks. I checked that out earlier and there are a few little equipment changes as well as a difference of 5kg in weight  but not what I'm after. Same engine, but is it exactly the same? I know not.

Thanks joeblow.

Looks like there's not too much to worry about when deciding between the two variants.

oh and the washer bottle is now inside the guard so you have enough room for a BTUL but not the hieght so it would have to find a low profile 12inch battery...
