Post by Ben308 »

Hi all, I'm putting out the question of dual batteries for my 03 SR5 Hilux T/D. I've got the battery tray installed and I can only fit an 8" battery. What battery have other ppl put in or what would you reconmend???

i went with a 80AH AmpTech deep cycle in my lux. on a trip last week it ran my 60L trailblaza for nearly 3 days without any extensive charging (ie only driving about 10mins per day, barely enough to charge the main battery after listening to the radio most of the night).

one thing to watch is apparently with the extra weight the wheel arch can crack if your doing lost of corurgations.

I'd love to fit an optima in, however they are too long. I can only fit a 8" battery in.

Yeah you should beable to fit as the optima is a tad over 8 inches at the top but also at the bottom they are not a completly square and being rounded on the ends might just fit in.

If not maybe space it up at bit so it clears the edges as they tend to be not as tall as most batterys as i found out in my Commo
