Hi guys, what is better to run on a 40 series, either genuine 40 series power steering or 60 series power steering.
Thanks.

go 60 series cos it removes a steering linkage from the factory 40 setup.
its a heap more robust too cos yer using 75 steering arms and tie rods..

60 series.
it's cheaper than getting a standard 40 setup.
it's stronger (40 series stuff'll really start to struggle with 35's)
it eliminates a whole host of problem area's from the steering system (relay rod, which gets chewed out by tires over 33 inches, eliminates a heap of linkage/joints where slop develops, and gets rid of that god aweful relay box).

As above 60 is the go. I used a 80 series box on mine, which is pretty much the same but with a flatter pitman arm.

Thanks guys, i have a complete 40 set up here but i think i will sell it and go the 60. I have a 60 box here so which are the best steering rods to run with it.

i used all stock/factory parts
55 steering column/shaft/bearing (splined end, hardest bit to find)
80 rag joint
7x series intermediate shaft (with steeringbox end uni joint)
60 series box
7x pitman arm
75 drag link
75 tie rod
hj75 TRE's
75 steering arms
all that should go into 1980+ front knuckles (the ones with the disk brakes)
