2nd hand lift kit

Post by the_fatman »

It's me again, asking another noob question sorry, i really wanna lift my truck to at least 4-5 inchs but cant afford the up front $$$ for a new kit, was just wondering if you could list the parts required for a lift this size and rough 2nd hand price please.
I wouldnt buy anything dodgey but surely people sell these parts seperatly etc frequently?

IMO you have buckleys chance of gettin a full 2nd hand lift.

You need, springs, shocks, brake lines, adjustable panhards, castors bushes/drop boxes. And then look at control arms ect.

Wont find many ppl selling 2nd hand panhards and brake lines.

Decent panhards will set you back at least $500, then brake lines, bushes blah blah. It all adds up bloody fast.

How much can you afford to spend?

Keep looking.

As said, you wont find many selling panhards or brake lines second hand, but i got dobinson springs and desert fox shocks for $300 second hand and still good. Last week a set of 4" dobinson coils sold in the sale section for $50.

They are out there, but it could take a while looking and being patient. Try and keep your eye out for a wreck or something that has rolled, and you might be able to get what you need plus more for less.

If you look on ebay, there is a second hand set of Adjustable Panhard rods at the moment, up to $150 for the pair.

As said, they do come up, just not alway's.

The issue is getting springs and shocks to suit your application. theres dozens of spring rates, and shock lengths, etc...
You may get a mix and match setup, but it probably wont work well, and you will have to start again.

If your strapped for bux, just go a 3inch kit.. 4x shocks 4x springs and maybe a brake line.

Hey mate, yeah it can be done. Just keep looking around for a full set there are some out there. I just picked up a full 4inch lift for $500. That was everything from the chassis down apart from the diffs and wheels lol. I got a set of MaxiLift Panhard rods, Dobinsons coils front and back, Old Man Emu Shocks, all the bushes, rear upper and lower control arms, front control arms, brake lines. But its not on the truck yet so ill see how it goes.

$1000 would get you an excellent NEW 3inch kit. where $1000 would get you a shit used something 4inch kit.

Then add engineers certificate to the components to be legal, and thats another $400-600
