To those out there with a 302 or 351 in their GQ how have you gone with the power steering pump being so close to the chassie rail.
I am currently using a fairlane belt path set up and am finding that the fan/waterpump slips as it is on the slack side of the belt to be able to run the power steer pump. i am only able to use about half if the tension travel duw to the rail position, and i can not get a shorter belt on,
ant ideas would be helpful

I retained the factory nissan powersteer pump and made my own mounting bracket off the front of the passenger side head. I also made it so that the alternater water pump belt is the same length, belt so I only have to carry one spare. The chassie rail isn't a drama as the nissan pump is smaller. I run 35's at 10psi with front locker in the bush and the pump handles it no problems.
