Considered welding but was concerned about the difficulty of removing them should something happen later on.
When I looked at mounts - could use existing brackets, mounts, holes etc... so it ended up a simple decision - but mines odd.

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

What I did was made up bent 14mm plates and drilled holes in them so that the sliders bolted to them. This way I didn't end up with a void behind them that could rust, and there was room to get in there and hold the nuts. I used 16mm Grade 8 bolts to hold them on.
Have piccies somewhere but would have to find them.
Plates were around 120x120mm I think from memory. There is about a 30mm space between chassis and mounting surface.
Hope this makes sense.

Mine are similar to above but I've used 10mm plate and crushtube for 2 10mm hightensil bolts on top of the chassis and the front leg is bolted
horizontally by 2 10mm hightensil bolts through the body mount plate! Wish I'd done them years ago! Just another idea for you and the only
thing lower is the 10mm plate it hasn't stopped or held me back yet
