i went to look at this landcruiser a lady has recently blown up,piston went through the head, anyways the body on it is quite good rust wise, they are going to part it out,i can get the whole body and interior, including snorkel, and side steps for a great price, will the shell bolt onto an 82 model hj 60 chassis,i know its alot of stuffing around, but its an option as the body on my truck is rather cactus, bogged up roof, the rust going right through the support thingy in places to,also every panel is dented ect,i could cut the roof off the shell and repair mine with that, then use the panels on mine,i guess alot less stuffing around that way to,also it didnt appear to have a 2 h or 12 ht,what other factory turbo 60 series was there,im guessing the turbo on it is useless on a 2h motor
cheers

86 factory turbo 60 series cruiser question
Moderators: toaddog, Elmo, DUDELUX
my car is a 2h,hj60,82 model, the car im looking to get is an 86 model, factory turbo hj60,has turbo seats ect,im assuming it must be a 12 ht,the valve cover was off it,if its a 12 ht,i should be able to bolt my 2h into it swap all my good stuff over to it to get the better body,im asuming my assumption is correct, that 60 series were either the 2 h or 12 ht,can the turbo set up of a 12 ht be adapted onto a 2 h
also my 2h isnt even trying to turn over,i get nothing but a click, thats with a fully charged batery that happily turns over a 3b diesel, and 2 different chevys

body
yeah mate the body will fit but ull have to make it turn off manuly cause there is no rely in the 12ht body. other than that you should have no trouble
seirra, ute chop, air locked 60 series diffs, 4-link rear, 3 link front, 35's,18" fox air shoxs, h.i.d's, 6hp high mount,
2H and 12HT share a near identical block and bottom end (exact same cast). Few changes for the turbo oil feed, piston skirt cooling, different pistons and rods but same crank and bearings etc.richardsc wrote:my car is a 2h,hj60,82 model, the car im looking to get is an 86 model, factory turbo hj60,has turbo seats ect,im assuming it must be a 12 ht,the valve cover was off it,if its a 12 ht,i should be able to bolt my 2h into it swap all my good stuff over to it to get the better body,im asuming my assumption is correct, that 60 series were either the 2 h or 12 ht,can the turbo set up of a 12 ht be adapted onto a 2 h

The difference is in the head, 12HT has direct injected head, 2H indirect.
The turbo off the 12HT will be a perfect match for the 2H. I believe the exhaust manifold will even bolt up from what i have read.
So yes, the turbo setup can definantly be adapted to the 2H, but the 2H turbo will never be as good as the 12HT. (still a big improvement over NA though).
You could possible look at building 1 good 12HT out of your 2 engines if you have the time and interest.
