centre difflock plug on transfer case broken, what to do???

Post by Mosko111 »

hey guys, found the plug which is for my centre difflock on the from an 80 series is broken, now ive rung around and been told i cant just buy the plug and have to buy a full wiring loom, its only the little bit of plastic that plugs into the side of the transfer case that is broken and was wondering what my options are, the cheapest quickest option is what im looking for so any ideas would be great!!

All it means is that you wont be able to lock the centre diff when in 4H. The centre diff will still lock when in 4L. So if you dont really need to lock it when high range, then dont worry about.

being able to lock it in 4H is usefull on sand or mild offroading where you dont need low range.

im surprised you cant buy the plug itself- Ring a wrecker and see if they have any 80 series that have suffered a cabin fire, those looms are un-sellable and they will happily cut off plugs for you.

Find a clever dealer that can identify the correct CONNECTOR HOUSING you require.

Factory electrical manuals list the part numbers.
