GU 4.2 turbo engine problem

Post by Hoonz »

My mate has a 01 4.2 turbo GU ute
when they turn it off it sort of keeps running on and shakes the whole car
for up to 5 seconds after switching it off .. only does it randomly
and seems to be ok if u let it idle for a minute after driving ... most of the time

any help appreciated
cheers

my 99 ute does the same thing but only when it has not fully warmed up. If you've been driving awhile it does not do it.

Could be fuel solenoid, may also be an alternator problem. I have found that if they dont get full voltage they dont shut down properly.

Has the pump been tickled?? Mine only started after it was tweaked... and its not uncommon..
